Preparation and Preservation of Bridal Gown

Our professional preservation and/or restoration cleaning process starts with the spot removal of a variety of visible stains such as red wine, food, coffee, lotions and body oils.

Moreover, throughout the wedding day your gown may have received various tiny spills of soda or white wine (many times caused by a guest and passed unnoticed), that can dry without leaving an obvious mark.

These sugary stains, which are not dissolved during ordinary dry cleaning, will over a period of time caramelize into unattractive brown/yellow stains.

If not removed effectively, salt from perspiration stains will remain and it will deteriorate the fabric over time. We use special spotting formulas to dissolve sugar and provide an anti-oxidation treatment.

We hand clean your wedding gown with great care using gentle chemicals that dissolve sugar and salt.

Further, we take extra steps to be certain that all stains, both visible and invisible, are removed and provide anti-oxidations treatment.

We make sure ALL stains are dissolved, after which your wedding gown undergoes another cleaning process to ensure all chemicals are removed and your wedding gown is completely clean.

Next, we carefully press your gown by hand, layer it with acid-free tissue and fold it into a completely acid-free, archival quality wedding chest that protects your wedding gown from exposure to light and air.
